About Maren
Clinical Expertise Grounded in Education and Advanced Training
Maren is an esteemed Primary Therapist at Chateau Health & Wellness, bringing a strong academic foundation and advanced clinical training into her work with clients. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Utah and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work.
Her professional qualifications include BCIA Certification in Neurofeedback, completion of the Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies, and certification as a Daring Way™ Facilitator. In addition, Maren has pursued specialized training in Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2, Couples and Addiction Recovery, Attachment Based Family Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
She actively provides ART as part of her therapeutic work, supporting trauma processing and emotional resolution in a focused and effective manner.
Sixteen Years of Diverse Clinical Experience
With more than 16 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, Maren has worked across a wide range of clinical environments, including residential treatment centers, hospital systems, and private practice.
This breadth of experience allows her to adapt treatment approaches to complex clinical needs while maintaining a steady, client centered focus.
In her role as a Primary Therapist, Maren integrates evidence based modalities with relational depth, helping clients explore trauma, attachment patterns, and recovery in a way that feels both structured and compassionate.
A Personal Commitment to Mental Health Advocacy
Maren’s dedication to mental health advocacy is deeply personal. Her father, a Vietnam veteran, lived with PTSD, depression, and other service related challenges during a time when trauma informed resources were limited.
Witnessing his struggles and the lack of specialized support available to her family profoundly shaped Maren’s path into this field.
Her work today is driven by a desire to honor her father’s memory by providing the care, understanding, and trauma informed support that were not accessible during his lifetime.
This connection informs her empathy, persistence, and commitment to helping others heal.
Global Perspective and Continued Growth
Maren’s professional journey includes working as an international social worker in Epsom, England, as well as studying under renowned researcher Brené Brown during graduate school.
These experiences broadened her perspective on resilience, vulnerability, and connection, both personally and professionally.
After recently relocating from Texas to Utah, Maren continues her work at Chateau while embracing new opportunities for growth, leadership, and service.
Life Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of her clinical role, Maren enjoys activities that foster balance and creativity. She values time spent watching movies, attending live music events, collecting children’s books, and exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping. These interests support her belief in restoration, curiosity, and the importance of meaningful connection.
As a Primary Therapist, Maren brings together experience, advanced training, and heartfelt purpose, helping clients move toward healing with clarity, compassion, and resilience.
